We have arrived!!!
We are finally here in London and I could NOT be more excited!
I've been here a solid 8 hours and I'm already thinking I can claim this as my favorite city thus far...
I mean honestly... I was in Kings Cross Station today. Am I serious??
I couldn't stop re-playing
"excuse me sir? can you tell me where I might find Platform nine and three quarters?"
"Nine and three quarters? Think you're being funny do ya?"
Looking around me and having everything be in a language I understand makes life twenty times easier.. and then there's the occasional moment where I forget I'm here until I hear someone around me speak and can't help but smile. Their accents are just so much prettier than ours!
For example:
The signs on the road don't say not to dump illegal garbage... they say not to dump illegal rubbish. Even their trash sounds more charming!
And then the flats that the London centre is made up of existed when Queen Victoria was alive... Or how about just the fact that I have an address in London?
We went to see Big Ben tonight after our orientation meeting, and I loved being back on the underground (I really missed that from Paris.. I'm shockingly good at navigating my way around public transportation)
Coming out of the tube station (Westminster) and looking up to see Big Ben all lit up with the London Eye kitty corner to it...
Well let's just say I'm officially welcoming myself to the city!
