books upon books

So for our classes while we're here in Paris, we are assigned to see certain things because we won't actually start class until we get into London (rough huh?).

Well one of the things we were assigned to see was a bookstore called "Shakespeare and Co." in the Latin district by the Notre Dame.

Oh my. I could have died happy.

One thing about me that maybe some people don't know is I'm a total nerd at heart... and maybe not at heart too haha.

Anyways... My idea of a perfect day would definitely include reading a whole big chunk of a book. I was totally the kid who would stay up all night just to finish a book, and one of my biggest regrets as I've gotten older is that I haven't had time, or made the time, to allow myself to just unwind and get lost in a good book as often as I should.

So anyways, after a full day at museums and shopping, we make our way to this little bookstore and we came upon it and I was speechless. I walked in and all thoughts of me being tired or my feet being sore my life is so hard just totally disappeared. I'd easily spend a whole day in there.

The girl in there was an English girl from London and had the most beautiful accent.

There wasn't a spare space in the store for another book. And there was an upstairs.

The crooks and nannies were filled with typewriters and beautiful old classics.

The building was the building that Fitzgerald and Hemingway would meet for coffee and to write while they socialized!

Need I say more? It was the most quaint place I've ever been and I loved every second of it.

I managed to snap a few pictures before the lady told me it wasn't allowed so here you are. It doesn't do it any justice though.

Anyone want to add to my book collection?
